West Coast Wild Salmon

The Alaska salmon fishery in Bristol Bay is sustainable and well managed by the Department of Fish and Game. We acquire a state permit to legally harvest our fish from The Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission, who governs the issuance of a restricted number of permits each year. The Alaskan salmon fishery in Bristol Bay is the last of the great salmon runs, and has been certified as sustainable.

For the 3rd time in 4 years, there is a moratorium on salmon fishing in Oregon. The Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife has closed the 2009 openings for the ocean Chinook salmon season, due to forecasts that once again salmon runs are estimated to be at dangerously low levels. We must give these runs time to replenish and abstain from fishing Oregon waters until the salmon return in strong numbers.

SVO and BioFuel

We are conscious of the impact on the environment with delivering product from out of state. Our refrigerated delivery truck has been converted to use Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) in addition to biodiesel! While biodiesel is a great alternative fuel with lower emissions and the ease of use in an unmodified engine, the real economic and ecological savings come when running on SVO.
